OPAWA. |. A meeting of the opawa Sohool Committee was held on Monday evening; piesont— Messrs B. H. I uruer '.chairman), F. W. West (heiiorury secretary), T. Adams, J. Pycrofi. J. Farrar, J. 1. Scott, W. Trist, J. Butler and E. J. Dennis. The head master's report for the month ending May 30 showed that the roll numbers were: —Boys, 190; gir.s, IBS; total, 376: averago attendanoo, boys, 176; girls, 164; total, 339. / Messrs Adams, Farrar and Pycroft were sp oin ed delegates io tho Canterbury Sohool Committees’ Association. 1 M-ssrs Butler and Pycroft were appointed a works committee, and the committee was ins tucted io erect seats about the grounds. The erection of a shelter shed was discussed. but wrl held over for a time. Mr E. J. Dennis resigned his seat on the eommi tee, having left the district.
Accounts were passed for payment amounting ho £lO ISs lOd.
