The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, by whom she was given away, looked very charming in an exquisite gown of white charmeuse and an, on, fashioned tunic wise, the sleeves being of lace, the bodice perfectly plain except for a tiny, edging of crystal beads on the round , yoiie, and the skirt having a graceful overdress of white ninon, bordered with white fur, which fell to the hem. Miss Jessie Kill attended as chief bridesmaid, and two little cousins of the bride, Marjorie Statham and. Violet Burnett, were also bridesmaids. They made a very effective wedding group in the palest lemon yellow crepe-de-chine frocks, the elder bridesmaid's dress being embroidered with turquoise beads and velvet, having a graceful aocordeon pleated skirt, anci the younger bridesmaids having quaint corslet bodices entirely of turquoise blue velvet. . Tlieir gold shoes, edgareoloured velour hats and golden brown chrysanthemum bouquets, harmonised most artistically. The groomsmen were Corporal Roger Gorton (brother pf the bridegroom), Corporal K. Henderson and Naval Lieutenant H. V. Harris. After the cpremony a reception was held at Waitikiri. Mrs Daigety received the guests in a dark jade-green velour cloth cojjjjt and skirt and a black hat- with jade -ospreys, Mrs Gorton, mother of the bridegroom, wore a peacock blue cot and skirt, and black hat, Mrs BurnOtt (grandmother of tho bride) was handsomely dressed in mole coloured costume and bat, Mrs C. It. Statham was in green with a black hat, Miss Olive Burnett wore a navy costume" and black and white hatter’s plush hat, and Miss Gorton wore a grey check costume and hat.
