A RAILWAY CASE.
MINISTER’S VETO. FURTHER. ACTION EXPECTED. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May ; 18. In connection with the appeal of A. N, Longton, booking clerk, Lambton Quay, against the Railway. Department’s decision regarding his promotion, on the ground thnt he lacked a sense of discipline, and. whom the Railway Appeal Board decided unanimously in favour of at a recent sitting, it now announced that the Minister of Railways has used, his power of veto and reversed the decision of tho board. It is Btated that this is the first occasion that tho unanimous decision of the board has been vetoed since the late Hon J. A. Millar was Minister of Railways. It is understood that the Railway Officers’ Institute, and A.S.R.S. will take action,-' as an important principle is involved-
