ST PAUL'S CHURCH. ™° «8" giv«n by Mr Rayuor White at St Paul's Presbyterian Churcn last evening was very largely attended A specially selected programme was proeented which included; "Coronation March" (Hollins), i>erceuse-'' (Arnbroise), a fantasia oa bird Songs (Lehniana), " Gavotte in D'* (Ramoau), "Thoughtful" (Tozer), -Fanfare" (Lemmens), " The Guardian Angol" and "Tho Lake of Dreams" (Pierno), national melodies of tho Allied nations and. the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "'Messiah." Tho numbers w«re all finely interpreted and thoroughly enjoyed. Vocal diversification was contributed by Miss Bessie Olds (soprano), who sang "Bells Across the Snow" (Gounod) and "Foar Not Y.«, o Israel " (Dudley Buck) in her usual charging and accomplished manner, and by M* C. Lawrence, whoso singing of "Lead, Kindly Light" and " Actoration" 'was very pleasing, both numbers suiting hit tenor voice well.
DURHAM STREET METHODIST CHURCH The organ and vocal recital of Christmas music at the Durham Street Methodist Church last night was very largly attended, and the efforts of the soloists and choir, under the direction of Mr E. Firth, wem thoroughly appreciated. Mr Firth's or,jran solos included an artistio rendition of Handel's beautiful symphony. Tho choir, producing a- well-balanced and pleasingly blended body of ovonly-attuned musical tone, contributed Pergolesi's fino chorus, " Behold 1.
