PERSONAL.

Captain H. G. Livingstone, of the Christehurch office, Defence Department, is a sufferer by the prevalent epidemic. Mr J. H. Howell, director of the Technical College, has recovered from an attack of influenza, and has returned to his duties at the College. The Rev W. Wills, Presbyterian minister at Seftonj died yesterday morning from pneumonia, supervening on influenza. He leaves a wifo and six children.

Dt A. D. Short, a member of tho local Hospital staff, was attaoked with influenza a few days ago, and he died at the Hospital yesterday. Dr Short returned from active service abroad some months ago, and was a native of tho North Island. He was about thirty years of age.
