WAIMAKARIRI RIVER BOARD.
The South Waimnkariri River Board mot on Monday; present—Messrs \\. P. Spencer (chairman), H. E. Peryman. J. Leslie, V. E. Jones, X. K. Bowdon, 0. H. Opie and J. P. w. ftfp. The overseer reported there had been several floods during the month, hut not much damage vrm caused. Accounts amounting to G 1153 lis ICW were passed for payment. It was decided to inspect the groin near the Umpire Bridge and the lower portions of the reserves on Saturday. Messrs C. H. Opie and J. P. W. Lee wore appointed as the board's delegates to the Canterbury Progress League. It was decided to rayo the employees of the hoard a holiday on the day following the date on which news of the. signing of the armistice was received. Motions of svmpathv were passed to Mr J. W. Meo noon-the death in action of his son, Mrs Henderson upon the death in action of her son. Private W. Henderson. Mr G. F. Duroy, upon the death in art ion of his son. and Mrs 6. W Olarkson upon the death of her husband, Mr George W. Clarkson.
