PERSONAL.

Bishop Brodie returned to Christchurch from the West Coast- last night. Mr C. H. Black, who has been for some time in the Christchurch branch of the Land and Deeds Registry Office, has been promoted to be chief clerk at the Dunedin branch. Messrs W- M’Gruer, F. B. Lane and James Marshall were sworn in as Justices of the Peace by Mr T. A- B. Bailey, S.M., at llangiora yesterday.
