PERSONAL.
In a letter received from the Havre, Mr Harry Ellwopd learns that Mr Jean Geraidy, the famous 'cellist, is serving with the Belgian Army.
Mrs C. C Goodwin, of Sandyford Street, Sydenham, has received word that her 'husband, Dispatch Rider C. C. Goodwin, is to return to New Zealand shortly.
Mr H. E. Gott who was seriously injured whilst cycling to business recently, is making a satisfactory recovery, and hopes to be about again in a few days. The Women's Christian Temperance Union held a very pleasant gathering on Thursday evening, the occasion being the golden wedding of Mrs Israelson, one of its oldest members. There was a very large attendance of members and friends, the room being crowded. Mrs T; E. Taylor presided, and welcomed Mr and Mrs Israelson in the name of the union, and congravtulatory speeches were delivered by Miss Henderson, Mrs Bunt, Mrs Wilson and the Rev J. Cocker. An enjoyable programme of musical and elocutionary items Tvas given, and supper was dispensed, after which the wedding cake was cut , and handed round. Mrs Israelson was then presented by the president with an autograph album, in which were inscribed the names of the officers and members of the union. The Catherine closed with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
