CANTERBURY BOARD No. 3. A Bitting of the Second Canterbury Military Service Board was held at Christchurch yesterday. Mr H. W. I'ho ayjßcala of ihe following were dismissed;— William Osmond Carbon, drapery employee; George Kooert i-uit'd i, u.r.tKsnnth, Lyitolton; John Thomas Snook, fishmonger (employer's appeal); John William Stophens (mothor's appeal); Honne Kokepiri, labourer; and Gunnor Richard W, Hillsdon. Further leave was granted as follows: To January 20 —Alex. W. Simpson Robb, shepherd, WhitccJffs (employers' appeal); and Thomas Henry M'Eutee, pardoner and dairyman. To March 17--George; Wilfred Drayton, china and hardware merchant, To March 31 —Ernest Alfred Sisson, fruitgrower. Sine die adjournments wero granted as follow:—John Mills Griffiths, eleciriciau, and Francis Ernest M'Dov.-ell, engineer (appeal of (he city electrical engineer); Edward John Hills, and Frederick Rob3rt Priddy, waterfide workers and shipwright, Lytte'ton (union's appeal); and John Francis Campbell, labourer, Belfast. The appeal of Stanley John Thomson, baker and pastrycook, was referred to the Efficiency Board. In tho ca-s-e of Noel V. E'msly, on aotiva service, his wile made an appeal for his return, but the board had no recommendation to make. A similar decision was come to in regard to tho moiher'a appeal for the roturn of Harry W. Wutts. In the appeal of John Foyarty, a returned so'dier, extended havo or. full pay for a month was rrrantod. Sapper Arihur Johnstone was Riven leave until January B on full pay. Tho board had no recommendation to make in the appeal of Harry SwitaHa, recently back from tho front. Driver Michael Wall, who left with the Main Body, was recommended for a month's extension on full pay.
