NAVY LEAGUE WAR FUND APPEAL.

What is it that has saved New Zealand and other outlying portions of tho Empire in this war? THE BRITISH NAVY. Deeds such as those of the "Broke" and the "Swift," and the sealing of Zeobrugge and Ostend quicken the pulse but entail tho loss of valuable lives, and the Navy League is asking you to help the dependents of tens of thousands of heroic men who have been lost at sea sinco August, 1914. This is your debt to them and it is YOUR DUTY—YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contribute magnificently, as they have fought and died.

The fund is administered by a responsible and representative committee in London, and donations sent to the office of the Navy League, 119, Worcester Street, Christchurcb', N.Z., will be gratefully acknowledged. ALEX. BOYLE, President Canterbury (N.Z.) Branch of the Navy League.
