[From Our CoßKESrOjnutKT*.] KAIAPOI. The board of management of the lvaiapoi technical classes mot on Tuesday night; present—Messrs W. Doubleday (chairman), F. Thome, It. Dunn, H. TVustrum. and T. Dodds (director). The director reported on tho attendance and progress made m th* different classes. Aocounts amounting to £ll 4s fld v;ere passed for payment, OXFORD. The fortnightly, meeting of tho Oxford Patriotic Commilteo was he'd on Monday night. Mr D. Hawke presided. A voto of sympathy was passed to tho parents of Private J. F. Burrows (wounded), also to Mr A. H. C. Orr. a member of committee, in his illnoss. Matters in connection with applicants for assistance from the Patriotic Fund were dealt with. Permission was given to the Picture Committee to inatal electric light. The question of further recognition of returned soldiers was held in abeyance. ELLESMERE. Mr George Remiio, of Taupiit, Waikato, who at one time hold the oHioa of srcrotnry to tho Ellesmere Agricultural end Pastoral Association, is paying a visit to the. Ellesmere district. Mr Rennie states that tho farming prospects in tii'e Waikato pointed to a- successful reason. Hg wa3 devoting bis attention chiefly to raising fat stock, but the dried milk industry! and. the assurance of good prioe3 had tempted him to go ill for dairying, and he Imped to get a 'jood herd together in the near future. Mr Rennie leaves again for the Xorth Island during the v;cek.
