The steamer Glaucus, which was weatherbound at the Bluff for a week, c.eared that port on Tuesday last with fcW.OOO foot of timber for Adelaide. After discharging she will proceed to the Islands to load guano for tho Dominion. The Hinemoa put back into Wellington late on Friday night, as she could not land at The Brothers or Cape Campbell lighthouses owing to rough sous. As the Wellington slip will not bo available before the vessel comes south, she will probably be docnea at Lyttolton or Dunedin for oieaning and painting. Tho Rosamond, whioh left Napier on Wednesday last tor Wellington, arrived at Wellington on Saturday atternoon, after a prolonged and unpleasant wip. Soon after putting out from the Mawke's Bay port, she ran into a south-westerly gale, which by midnight had developed into a hurricane. These conditions wero accompanied by very heavy rain. The vessel did not put in anywnero for sheUer, but kept plugging ahead, and several huge green seas wero shipped. To make matters worse, several members of the crew were suffering from influenza, and this naturally entailed more work for those who wero able to get about. Fumes from a damaged cargo of calcium carbide, which penetrated the living quarters and the engineroom, also made things very unpleasant.

The Orepuki is expected to sail from Lyttelton for Greymouth on Thursday evening. Mr J. Gaby has joined the barque uaruford as second mate, relieving Mr H. Collier. Mr M, Michael, chief engineer on the limi, signed off that vessel at Wellington. The Te Anau, which left Auckland, on Saturday afternoon for Wellington and uunetlin, will probably load transhipments- at Wellington for southern ports. The Mooraki will not come south this trip, and will leave Wellington on Thursday for Sydney. The Putiki is due here to-morrow from Dunedin, and will leave for Wellington the same evening.

Mr Convillo, ohief engineer of the Kaitangata, has come ashore owing to an attack of appendicitis, and Mr Thomae, eocond officer, is acting ohief. Mr Falconer, third officer of. the Rosamond, has joined the Kaitangata. The coastal steamer Tainui is due here some time to-day from Wellington, and is timed to sail to-morrow for the same port. The vessel on completing at Wellington, will proceed to Wanganui to carry on lightering of meat to Wellington for the remainder of tho wook. The colliers Kahilis, and Karamu are timed to leavo the West Coast at five this morning with full cargoes of coal for Lyttelton. Thoy should be here to-morrow.

The Westralia has been further detained at Wellington, and is not now expected in Lyttelton until' to-morrow. The Canopus sailed last night for Westport, whore sho will load for Timaru. M!r J. J. M'Keegan has signed on the Corinna as third engineer in. placo of Mr D. W. Palmer.

The Institute of Marine Engineers will hold a general meeting at Wellington this week to consider an offer of a war risks, bonus from the Shipowners' Federation. Tho Cygnet will leave this evening for Kaikoura.

Tho Storm was timed to leave Dunedin yesterday for Timaru and Lyttolton. She should arrivo here tomorrow to load for Wanganui direct.

The Monowai is timed to leava Auckland to-day for southern ports. She is expected hero about Sunday, and should sail on Monday evening for Dunedin. The Calm, which reached Dunedin yesterday morning, was expected to sail last evening for Timaru and Lyttelton. She should arrive hero to-morrow to load for Wellington and Wanganui.
