GREEN TICKET IN THE LEAD. Yesterday's returns of the positions of the competing districts in the Tramway Copper Trail showed no change. The various places are still filled as follow : l_Green ticket: Spreydon, Eiccarton. Lincoln Road, Coronation Street. 2 —Buff ticket: Sumner, Lyttelton, Heathcote, Woolston. 3—Pink ticket: Opawa, St Martins. Cashmero, Sydenham. 4 Blue ticket: North and South Brighton, Dallington, Bromley and Linwood. s—Yellow ticket: Fendalton, Papanui. 6—White ticket: Marshland, Cranford Street, Edgewaro Road.

On Wednesday next, October 2, the Marshland Ladios' Guild (president, Mrs Charles G. Balgoty) will bo in charge of the Lady Liverpool stall in Cathedral Square. " There will be the usnial display of delicious home-made cakes, eggs, butter, oniony., jam. pickles, sweets, flowers, etc., and .there will also be a Christmas- tree to tempt the wee folks. A few of the fir cones will be sold. Competitions include a cord of sawn fir wood, to be delivered in town; a very handsome pearl necklace, dressed doll, camisole, etc., the proceeds to be added to the White Ticket of the Tramway Copper Trail. 1
