ASHBURTON. ' The yarding of fat sheep at the Tinwald yards yesterday totalled 225, comprising 141 ewes and 8-1 wethers. Bidding all through was keon an I good prioes were obtained. The yarding of store sheep aggregated 2551, and consisted of 2057 hoggets and 120 wethers, the balance being owes in lamb and with lambs at foot. Thero was only a limited demand for hoggets, and of the yarding 1331 were passed at auction. Amongst the passings was a line of 170 ewe hoggo's at 3Gs Id, and another line of 95 at 34s 6d. Sales wore—so wether hoggets 29s 2d, 35 ewe hoggets (inferior) 245, 68 at Sis 9cl, 41 two-tooth half-bred ewes in lamb 30s, 120 four and six-tooth cross-bred wethors 89s Bd. 80 wether hoggets 28s 7d, SI ewes and 37 lambs 20s 7d, 242 three-quarter-bred ewo hoggets 29s 7d, 190 mixed sex hoggets 18n 6d, 231 two, four, six and eight-'ooth ewes in lamb 30s 3d to' 30s 6d« G 1 three-quarter-bred ewe hoggets 345. Thero was a yarding of 32 head of cattle. Bidd-ng was keen, and highly satisfactory prices were obtained. Fat stoers b-ought £8 to £l4 15s, and fat heifers £l6 ss, £l7, £lB and £l4 10s. Messrs Harris Bros, report that at the auction sale of guaranteed fresh eggs held yesterday on behalf of the Canterbury Egg Farmers’ Association there was a very large entry, and every lot was sold at the follov/ing rates: —First grade hen eggs Is . Id, second grade hen eggs Is 3d, duck eggs Is 3idto la 4d, Competition eggs la 4d. 103
