PEACE MOVES.
AUSTRIA’S POSITION.; MAY MAKE ANOTHER EFFORT. “ The Times " Service. (Received September 24, 7.20 p.m.) THE HAGUE, September 23. Austria is expected shortly to launch another peace offer, with an expression of her readiness to accept President Wilson's fourteen points. Germany is not yet ready, but Marshal Foch’s offensive is having a wonderfully persuasive effect.
BULGARIA’S APPROVAL. Keuter'a Telegrams. (Received September 24, 11 p.w.) AMSTERDAM, September 23. A Sofia message says:—'Bulgaria ha* acknowledged the Austrian Peace Not® with the liveliest satisfaction and alleges that her aims do not conflict with President Wilson’s views regarding the settlement of the Balkan conflicts in conformity with the law of nationalities
BARON BURIAN’S STATEMENT. Reuter’s Telegrams. (Received September 24, 11 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, September 23.
Berlin messages give a lengthy interview with Baron’ Burian referring to the Allies’ reception of the Peace Note. He foreshadows fresh pacifist moves from the Central Powers. He alleges that the Note achieved one subsidiary purpose, having revealed a difference, rs. the opposing camps, of which the haste of President Wilson’s reply is an outstanding example.
