A Serbian communique states:—We advanced northward over twenty kilometres on September 20, and we are now several kilometres north of Kavardar. We captured twelve more guns. Germano-Bulgar reinforcements are continually arriving. (Kavardar is eight,miles from Krivolak, on the Vardar.) THE ITALIANS’ ADVANCE. A. and N.Z. Cablo Association and Reuter. An Italian official message says:—A report from the Macedonia front states that in the Cerna bend, in conjunction with the general Allied offensive, the Italians began a vigorous advance on Saturday, capturing the enemy’s front positions.

ALLIED ADVANCE CONTINUES. A. and NIZ. Cable Association and Reuter. (Received September 23, 9.55 p.m.) PARIS, September 22. A French Eastern communique states:—The pursuit of the defeated Bulgarians continues. Despite the increasing resistance of the enemy’s rearguards, the Serbian forces reached the middle Vatasha. On the left the Allied troops crossed tho Cerna in the region of Chebren. On the right we have captured tho high summits of Poraa and Dzena. The Bulgars are setting fire to abandoned villages. One of their field batteries was captured intact. Our airmen are indefatigably bombing and machine-gunning the enemy’s retreating columns.

BULGAR RETREAT EXTENDS. A. and N.Z. Cable Association and Router. (Received September 24, 12.50 a.m.) PARIS, September 23.

A Fiench Eastern communique says:—The French-Serbian armies on September 21 on the Drachevishko massif broke the serious resistance of the Bulgarians, reinforced by German troops, and pursuing their successes the Allies advanced northwards and passed Vozartzi and Kavadar. in the direction of Negotin and Demirkapu. The enemy is destroying material wholesale in ),he direction of Gradskand in the region of the Vardar and Doiran, where ho is burning stations, munition depots and aviation parks. The number of prisoners and guns captured is increasing. The Serbians captured a complete group of mountain guns and a battery, of 105 millimetre guns. Our aviators continue to harass the retreating enemy. In the eastern part of the Cerna bend the enemy lias begun to retreat. The Allies have captured Chanishtp and Orle. The French and Greeks north and north-east of the Dzena massif continue to progress in conjunction with the Serbians. (Demirkapu and Gradska are on the railway running along the Vardar Valley to Koprili.)
