SHIPPING NOTES. The Kamona was timed to leave Greymouth last evening for Lyttelton with a load of coal. The crew of the wrecked Himitangi was paid off at Wellington on Monday. The Ngatoro is to undergo overhaul on the Wellington patent slip. The work will occupy about four days. The Mana is due here from Wanganui today. She is timed- to leave, again this evening for Wellington and Wanganui. The Tainui, which left Wanganui on Tuesday night for Lyttelton, has probably put in for shelter up the coast. From Lyttelton she will sail for Wellington, Napier and Tokoniaru Bay and back "to Lyttelton. The Wakatu arrived in Lyttelton last evening from Kaikoura. The vessel will return this evening.
The Storm is due here «n . Tuesday from Wanganui. She will load for the south. The'Wootton arrived at Lyttelton last evening from Wellington. It is hoped to despatch her on her return journey this evenin? with general cargo. The magisterial inquiry into the loss of the Himitangi will commence at Wellington to-day. Captain G. Lambert and Commander Hooper hav-s been appointed assessors. The Monowai was to leave Auckland last night for Wellington direct. Ttje vessel should reach Wellington on Saturday afternoon. She is expected at Lyttelton on Tuesday morning, and will eail the same evening for Dunedin.
The Opihi. which is In charge of Captain R A. Campbell, who arrived in Lyttelton on Sunday from Austra'ia, will be docked 'omorrow to receive her final coat of She will come out on Monday, and will com. mence loading flax, ta'low and pelts on Tuesday. The vessel's engines were worked for three hours on Wednesday afternoon, and gave every satisfaction. The Waipori, which h?s been discharging coal at Lytte'ton from Newcastle, will leava this evening for Auckland direct, thence to Kaipara to load timber for Melbourne.
