THE MAIN BODY.
QUESTION OF FURLOUGH.
[From Oob Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, August 29.
Several months ago batches of the Main Body men were permitted to return to New Zealand on furlough in cases where it was demonstrated that they had family obligations necessitating: their presence in New Zealand. When the demand for reinforcements increased this leave was stopped. It has now been resumed, and a limited number of men with over three years' service are to be given leave froni the front where circumstances indicate hardship. The extent of this privilege largely will depend on the supply of shipping.
