MARKET REPORTS.

CATTLE FAIR AT TINWALD. There was a large attendance at the Tinwald yards yesterday, when the Ashburton branch- of the New Zealand Farmers' Cooperative Association held a special cattle fair, the entries comprising 800 head. Buyers were present from both north and south, and from Banks Peninsula. Competition for the whole yarding was particularly brisk, and very few lines were passed at auction. Tho yarding of fat caitle aggregated 33, and consisted of 11 cows, 10 heifers and 12 steers. The highest price ruling for fat cows waa £22 ss, the property of Mr W. M'iauchlan (Walerton), while Mr S. Taylor (Eiffelton) got £l7 2s 6d for two, and Mr E. Goss (Eiffelton) £ls 12s 6d„and Mr F. B. Bobison (Tinwald) £l3. Other prices were £ll 6s, £l2, £l2 2s 6d, £l3 10s, £l3 17s 6d to £l4 175.6 d. For fat heifers, Mr R. Holland (Tinwald) topped the market at £l3 17s 6<l. Othor sales were: —For Mr G. Watson (Greenstreet) £l3 7s 6d, and Mt S. Taylor (Eiffelton) £l2 10s. Other prices ranged from £lO 17s 6d to £ll ss. For fat steers, Mr J. Blee (Willowby) got £2l 12s 6d for two, Mr R. Holland'(Tinwald) 2 at £2O 15s, Mr V. Wright (Lagmhor) 4 at
