CRICKET.
EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The annual meeting of tho East Christchurch Cricket Club was held last evening, Mr R B. Ward presiding. A letter convoying his good wishes was received from the prosidsnt (Dr Orchard), who is on active service in France. Tho' annual report recorded that four prominent members of the club, W. Crichton, E. Willstccd, E Murfitt and A. Norman, had lost their lives while on military service.
Arrangements for opening day were left in tho ’hands of Messrs Howell and Blank, and it was decided to try and arrange a match with Riccarton for the occasion. Officers for the year wsre elected as follow:—President, Dr Orchard; vice-presidents Dr J. P. Whettsr, Dr J. F. Duncan and Mr R. T. Button; club captain, Mr IV. Howell; secroiary, Mr P. Greenlees; treasurer, Mr C. Atkinson; committee Messrs Blank, Howell, Maddren, Ward, Dowd, Wood and Kincaid; selection committer. Messrs Blank anc Howell; delegates to Canterbury Association, Messrs Ward, Blank, Maddren and Howell; auditor, Mr R. B. Ward.
