PERSONAL NOTES.

Mrs Hogg, wife of Lieutenant. Colonel W. A Hogg, Assistant Director of Medical Services in Christchurch, has received news that her brother, Major Bernard Tennent, R.A.M.0., was killed on\the western front on August 23 Major Tennent was a spn of tho Rev E. C. Tennent, und was born in Australia. Ho came to Now Zealand when he was a boy, and was educated at tho Dunedin High School, die went to the Old Country to study medicine, and took his medical degreo at tho Edinburgh University. Ho joined tho ltoyal Array Medical Corps soon aftei the war began, bur came bade to New Zealand to relieve LioutenantColouel Hogg at Wellington when tho latter wont to England. He was awarded the Military Cross and one bar, and was recommended for tho D.S.O.
