BIG QUESTIONS AFOOT. [From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June 12. Tho National Efficiency Board has had several long conferences with Sir James Allen and the Hon W. D. S. MacDonald, acting-leaders of the National Government, over important questions which war conditions have forced forward. Sir James Allen informed me tonight that among the subjects discussed was the last man on the farm, in regard to which no material alteration is to bo made in the present position. Tho conference also considered wheat production; timber supply; control of soldiers' businesses to ascertain how far the State can go in maintaining them; soldiers' repatriation and national service. As all the recommendations havo to go Cabinet the Minister could not indicate their nature. Tho Board of Trado has been conferring with the Hon W. D. S. MacDonald on petrol supplies, wheat purchase and other important questions of war prices. _____________
