THE STEAMER MAORI.
DELAYED BY DAMAGED PROPELLER. It was not until close on II a.m. yesterday that tho ferry stoamer Maori put in an appearance at Lyttelton, the delay being due to the vessel having cast one of her propeller blades when just outside the Wellington Heads. Passengers state that they felt a shock, and immediaely the engines raced. There was no excitement, and the vessel proceeded on her course to Lyttelton at reduced speed, the trip occupying about fifteen hours. The dock at Lyttelton being at present engaged by the dredge Canterbury, it is not yet known when the Maori's propeller will be repaired. In the meantime the vessel will make the trips between two islands ali a rate of about twelve knots an hour. The journey will thus take about fifteen hours instead of eleven. The Maori left Lyttelton for Wellington last evening as usual.
