EGGS. The egg market is well supplied. Canterbury Egg Circle first grades aro Is Bd, seconds la 7d dozen. HORSE SALE. Thero was an entry of fifty-five horses at Tattersall's on Saturday. Among the entry was a consignment of half-draughts from Mount Possession Estate. These wero good hardy young sorts, and met with a ready sale at tho following prices:—Three-year-old gelding, £ls; two-vear-old mare, £11; four-vear-oid mare, £l4 ’ 10s; six-year-old gelding, £l2 10s; four-year-old gelding, £l4; four-year-okl gelding, £ls; four-year-old gelding, £11; five-year-okl gelding, £18; four-year-old tnare, £9 ss; four-year-old mare, £l2; five-yenr-old gelding, £lO 10s; four-year-old filly, £10; four-yenr-old gelding, £ll. Several unbroken hacks from tho same estate sold at from £3 15s to £S 10s. Sales made for other clients inoluded the following:—J. E. Ferguson (ilalswell), six-voar-old gelding, £ls; Dovloston client, aged tnare, £lO 10s; J. Pike (Halewell!, aged hack, £lO ss; L. C. Breen (Harewoed), six-vear-old gelding, £10; client, sgcM mare, £ll 10s. Aged harness horses sold at from £2 IPs to £s' 10s. ASHBURTON. A week's fine weather has enabled harvesting operation? to go on without a break. Tho wheat crops have also ripened rapidly, and cutting is now general, a fairly large area being already in stook. Threshing of wheat will commence in about a week, should weather conditions remain suitable. Oats aro now being offered fairly freely, but Algerian is tho only variety so far on tho market. The demand cannot he said to bo keen, although growers are not disposed to sell at under 3s on trucks. This price is only obtainable for the heaviest, good-colour-ed and well-conditioned samples. Light lines showing signs of weather may bo quoted at from 2s 6d to 2s 10d. Chaff. —Prime, okl chaff is inquired for, and from 95s to 100 s on. rail is ruling price for this quality. Second class and inferior quality from 80s to 90s, according to description.

We also report having sold during the past four weeks by public auction, six motor cars, which realised just on £I3OO.

Tho Farmers’ Saleyai'ds report that the following prices were realised at their weekly sale: —Half-draught, seven-year, £l6; aged draught, £7; black cob, five years. £6 15s; cows m profit, £lO and £4; set of spring dray harness, £5 os; goats, 2bs each; weaners, ,20s 6d to 265; spring dray, £4 17s 6d: pleasure trap, £7; RT. gig, £l2 ; sacks, 6]d; trap harness, £3 10s and down to 3os; churn, 11s; blue gum posts, Is 3d to Is 9d; stakes, 27s to 30s per 100. At tho poultry sale a fair entry came forward, and a. sharp advance ft’as noticeable all round, particularly for hens. Claridgo and Smith. 9 POULTRY. Messrs J. B. Merrett and Co. report a large entry of poultry on Saturday. Prices were easier for Unprimed birds, but good quality birds wero sold well. Table chickens realised os 6d to 10s Id, hens 2s 6d to 5s 3d. pullets 4s to 10s 6d, (lucks 4s to 7 s 6d, geese 7s to 9s all per pair 9
