PERSONAL NOTES. Airs N C Henderson, Cameron Street, Ashburton, has been advised that her son-in-law Private William B. Tub-Con was killed in action in France on January 10. Private Johnston was formerly an engine-driver o:i tho Alount Somers branch line, and was engaged in farming pursuits m the Gatlins district when he enlisted. Ho left with the Fifth Reinforceemnts. Advice has been received that Private D N. Eddy, reported wounded on December 3. and transferred to AValton-on-Tliames Hospital on January ]. is improving. Private Eddy enlisted ■with the Ninth Reinforcements. Ho enlisted from Springston and had not been wounded before. Airs Kruse, of Frank Street, Papanui has received a telegram from Base Records stating that her son. Private Stanley Kruse, had boon transferred from the AVidton-ou-Tlmmos Hospital to tho convalescent depot at Hornchurch.

Advice Ims been received that Cornoral W. B. Macintosh, late of Riccarton, who left New Zealand with the Twenty-sixth Reinforcements, was admitted to hospital in Franco on November 1, suffering from valvular disease of the heart, and later transferred to No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital, Brocklehurst, is returning to New Zealand shortly.
