A social and danco to assist the candidature of the Papaimi School Queen at the Patriotic. Carnival will bo held at the Belfast Hall this evening. , A concert arranged by the Society for tho Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will bo held in the concert hall of the Y.M.C.A. this evening. Mr J. H. Howell will deliver an address'. Recitations will bo given by Miss Lucy Cowan and her pupils, and tho prizes won in tho school essay competition will be presented. The Christ-church Scottish Society will pivc .a concert in aid of the Papanui Schools' Queen at St Paul's Schoolroom to-morrow evening. A public meeting of women will be held in Iho Peace Council rooms, Cathedral Square, to-morrow evening.
