OPEN-AIR ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.^ The open-air orchestral conceit held iii Uio, grounds of Mr F. C. Raphael's VJresidenec. STRAND THEATRE. Two star films will be shown at the Strand Theatre this week, commencing: at noon today. The first is "Forbidden Paths," a sensational story featuring the talented Japanese player Sessue Hayakawa, and this will be followed by the popular " Madam« Butterfly" with Mary Pickford as Cho Cha San. MUSICAL SOCIETY. At the Choral Hall to-rnorrow evening the Christchurch Musical Society, assisted by the Symphony Orohestra.. • will produce "Elijah." . The soloists aro Madame Gower Burns, Mrs Pidgeon, and Messrs Gill and Clarkson, and there will be a ohorus of one hundred voices.
