MAXIMALISTS v. " SHOCK TROOPS."

The Government telegraphs that the Maximalist troops occupied Taurarovka and Kaluga, and disarmed and arrested General Kornilov's shock troops, and restored revolutionary authority. The Commissioner of the Black Sea fleet telegraphed, asking for the immediate dispatch of all Black Sea detachments, with numorous machine guns. He says that the military Cadets are attacking Rostov with armoured cars.

GERMAN PRISONERS RELEASED STOCKHOLM, December 14.

The Russian authorities are stated to have released all German civilians in exchange for 4000 Russian officers imprisoned in Germany.

The "Morning Post's" Petrograd correspondent says that a story is current that recently the Kaiser offered to restore the Czar to the throne and to provide German Guards in Russian uniform and able statesmen to reestablish order, if Nicholas swore. PARIS, December 14. The "Deutsche Ze:tung" reports that Lenin has ordered the evacuation of territory east of the Riga front as far as Lake Peipus. Such a retreat will bring the German troops within 125 miles of Petrograd.

AUSTRIA'S REQUIREMENTS. (Received December 16, 5.5 p.m.) BERNE, December 14. The "Deutsche Zeitung" reports spired article says that Austria wants no increase of territory. Hungary, moreover, refuses to accept the inclusion of Rumania and Serbia in the monarchy.
