The amount in han3 to deto for the contributions of the Little River Red. Cross branch to the “ Our Day ” Fund is £46. This sum has been raised by a house to house canvass by Mrs Patten (Puaha) £0 os, Mrs Lewthwaite (Coop Town) £2 15s 6a, Mrs Birdling (township) £9 14s, Mrs Clough (Maori Pah) £3 lOs ftd, Mrs Newton (Okute Valiev) £8 13s and Mrs J. Joblm (Western Valley) £ls 12s. The secretary hopes that further moneys for the funl will be handed in noxt Thursday afternoon. The committeo wishes to acknowledge with thanks donations from St Andrew’s Church (per Rev Maclavertv). Mr Marlow (sale of silk worms) 10s, Social Committee (per Mr T. Thompson) £l3 6s, Mr J. Knight (Christchurch) gift, of Bheep value S2, and (per Matson and Col £9 12s Gd- from Messrs J. Joblin, Coop, J. White. J. Coop, J. M Queen, T. Maffey and R. Dyer. Monthly subscriptions for September have been sent in by Mesdames Whatman, Gilbert, J. Joblin and Newton, also £1 7s Gd from the Puaha School children (per Mrs Patten) and 3s from the Pino Children for local soldiers epeoinl comforts.
