Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. have sent the following letter to tlio Officer Commanding No. 10 Group, Timaru: “ I notico in the list of defaulters under tho Military Service Act the name of Bernard Kingston Tosswill, who left New Zealand in April or May, 1915, with permission to return to his home and enlist, which he did, and is now a lieutenant in the 4th Reserve Cavalry Regiment, and when I last, heard from him he was just leaving for France. I shall be glad, therefore, if you will have correction made and. his name erased from the list. _ In order to carry out military duties, Mr Tosswill sold out his property at Methven and left power of attorney in my namo, but no notice for military service has reached me, otherwise I certainly should have advised you sooner. I e “ cl ° s ® herewith letter received from him dated March 6, and bearing the East Cavalry heading, which I trust will be a sufficient proof for your purposes.
