Sir, —T was pleased to see that,l>r Thacker, M.P., had asked for a grant in aid of the kindergartens. For some + ime' past a number of ladies have been doing'excellent work, here and in the oMier ciiie* centres under the _ most difficult circumstances, by establishing kindergarten \ schools The 'advantages of these schools enn hardly bo overestimated. Thev are part of the State school system in America, and also in several of the more advanced European countries. Here, although the Government has assistance, the work ha a all along .been hampered through lack of funds. Tin's should not her in: this rieh and prosperous community. Some little time back a prooosnl was.made that ah association should be formed to discuss, inquire into and renort rmon educational matters in all departments and all its- hearings, with a view to, improvement anrl srener.nl advancement.
