Waters-on, . aged about eighteen, won the hundred- yards provincial championship, equalling Malcolm Champion s Dominion record of 6lUsco. WALTHAM CLUB CARNIVAL. ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED. Tho Waltham Swimming Club held a carnival on -Saturday in beautiful weather, in the presence of a lair gathering. During the afternoon the chib’s Roll of Honour was unveiled by Dr H. T. J. Thacker, M.P. The president oi the club (Mr J. 3. Adams) in introducing Dr Thacker, mentioned that the number of members tvho have answered, the call compared very favourably with the number of members from older clubs. • Dr Thacker said that he was very proud to be present on such an occasion and was only too willing to assist in any ceremony of that description. He referred to. the good name that tho New Zeo-landers hold in England, France and America, and eaid that the people of the Dominion 1 should feel very proud that -heir men, although drafted straight from their employment aud with only six -to nine months’ training have beaten Germany s be?t men with forty years’ training, -the roll of houour was unveiled and hear.y ..cheers were given for the club members tvho have answered tho call of Empire.
