MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. ' CHRISTCHURCH, February 2. There is nothing fresh to report in reference to the wheat market. A few bales have been made at 5s 6d per bushel, but in most eases the produce changes hands upon the understanding that the seller will receive the Government fixed price. Reports from reliable sources indicate & smaller yield than was estimated prior to the commencement of the harvest. Oats are not plentiful, and the offerings are mostly light Duns. Sellers' prices are mostly above buyers' limits, but a little business is doing at prices quoted below. The same remarks apply to ryegrass, there being a poor demand for light Beed and a 'scarcity of heavy samples. Chaff is not freely offered, and prices remain as quoted in last report. The following quotations are for purchase* from farmers, net cash, sacks extra, delivered at country stations, the figures for the corresponding date of 1916 oeitig also given for purposes of comparison:—
