FATAL FALL. [Per Press Association] GISBORNE. January 29. Thomas Jones, forty-six years of age, a horse trainer belonging to Hastings! fell from a bedroom window of a hotel and sustained injuries from which he died.
BURNED TO DEATH. [Per Press Association] . AUCKLAND. January 29. Bessie Schmidt, a widow aged sixtysix, was burned tb death at 1.30 this morning in a fire which partly destroyed the house in which she lodged. .
WASHED OVERBOARD.' [Pkr Prksß Association.] ' DUNEDIN, January 29. William Heath, forty years of age, was washed' from a fishing launch at Puketeraki last night, and is believed to have been drowned.
DROWNED, WHILE BATHING. [Pkr Press Association] WELLINGTON, January 29. Daniel Rafferty, a single man, thirtyfour years of age, was drowned while bathing in the Mnnawatu River at Moutoa yesterday morning. The police recovered. the body during the afternoon. 'At an inquest this morning a verdict was returned of accidentally drowned. Deceased came froni Melbourne, and was employed at the Whitanau fox mill.
