NATIVE LAND COURT.

SITTINGS £T KAIAPOI

The sittings at Kniapoi of the Native Land Court and South Island Maori Land Board, presided over by Judges Rawson and Gilfeddor, concluded on Saturday afternoon. The panui or calendar consisted of 175 casts l while twenty-eight applications for the confirmation of sales, leases and mortgages were considered by the board. The most important partitions wero those of Opukutahi 2a6, and Kainpoi sections 71. 85, 26, 134 g and 136 f. Successors were appointed to numerous deceased Natives, including Rina Maopo, Teono Tikao Wira, A. G. "Wira, Aterea, Maopo, Te Maiharanui, Rum. Tine, Hakopa Moi, Hone Ropata, Mereliona Retara, Tieke Horomona, Rawiri te Iti, Wi Pokuku and Hone Tututaua. On the application of Rahera Mutu W. D. Barrett was removed Tram tho trusteeship of his children, and the Tublic Trustee was appointed in his stead. Letters of administration were granted to tho Public Trustee in respect of the estates of Haimona Harawira and Tamateraki Tone, the executors named in the wills being set aside. Consideration of the will of Matene Kahuariki was deferred.

An exchange of Wairewa sections between the Taituhes and Rapatines was confirmed. With certain stipulations and provisions the board confirmed tho following sales: —Wairewa, Lots 3, 4 and 6, to T. Thompson and Whatman; Kaiapoi, No. 181. to James J-udson; Mangamaunu, Section 5, to H. W. Beauchamp. Among others the following leases were agreed to, provided the lessees were willing to comply with the hoard's requirements:—Rakaia sections to Watson Bros-; Kaiapoi Section 4S to R, J. Taylor; Wairewa, 7a and 7c to F. Hunt; Te Kata to F. Jenkins; Onukn "to A. Goynan ; Wairewa No. 5, Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd. Consideration of two mortgages was deferred, and a number of applications were adjourned to Temnka and Puketeraki, where, the hoard will sit on November 28 and December 5 respectively.

Judge Rawson, of the Maori Land Court, left, for Wellington on Saturday. Judge Gilfedder will leave for the south to-day.
