FOUND HANGED.
EX-JOCKEY'S DEATH. A man named James Oammings, an ex-jockey, aged fifty years, was found hanging in a shed at Islington on Thursday night. Aid was summoned, but it was found that the man was dead. The body was removed to the Morgue, and later in the day an was held by Mr H. W. Bishop, District Coroner. James Clifton Turk, a power house attendant at Islington, stated that lie was told by a swagger at 8.40 p.m.' on Thursday that a man was hanging in an old cottage at Islington. Witness went to the eottge and found the body hanging up to the ceiling by a strap. The legs were on the ground. A kerosene tin was near by, and deceased had probably stood on it. The body W(IS ,non an< * col< '' " le cot " race was an empty one. William Worsfv, a constable stationed at Islington,' stated that he had known Cummings for some years. It wis not known whether ho was married. He went about.the country with a swag. Witness had seen Cummings on November 21. He was then in his ordinary state. The body, when found, had been hanging probably for twentyfour hours. The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide by hanging.
