'Mrs Lane reported that she had attended f. meeting of the executive, tend that most of the districts were now ready for collec--1 tors. She would bo glad, to receive names of members who would undertake to call for subscriptions from subscribers. It had been decider! tlint collectors should begin their work on tho first Monday of each month. Mrs Bristed moved that tho secretary should be instructed to write to the different centres,, asking committees to be' careful that only thoroughly clean and useful garments were sent forward for shipping to ■the Belgians. The speaker suggested also tftnt an appeal of the same kind should be made in tho local papers. Miss AVislon socondcd the motion. Mrs Lane sa.id that shipping space must b» considered, and it was absolutely necessary that only garments in a goon condition must bo shipped. The motion was carried, nnd the secretary was instructed to write, to the different centres on the matter. It was decided to hold «■ packing day at ' Messrs Charles Clark's. Hereford Street, on December 6. and it was hoped all members would attend. Mrs Lane reported on the Belgian Festival, to he held in the Theatre Royal on November 41, 22 and 23. A sale of tickets and booking of seats had .been . held in the Square on November 8. and. the committee had been greatly helped bv the services of Messrs Milner and Thompson. Messrs Bell and Somerset hact~.attended all dav to the hooking office. Members were asked to help with the sale of tickets for the festival. The play, which was entitled “ A Daughter of the Gods.” had been written and carried out bv Mr Wauchop, assisted by Miss Mensie«. It was founded on Japanese, legends, which lend themselves to magnificent scenery and staging. . , ' , All the members present promised lo helpin the sals of tickets.
