Strong remarks regarding the lack of parental control of girls were made in. a case in tho Police Court to-day when it was alleged that a taxi-cab driver had. been responsible for ruining a number of girls whom he gave joy rides to in his car. Tho probation officer said it was deplorable tho number of ruined young girls in the city. He had met numerous cases where relatives had sought his aid for girls whom tho Queen Street Friday and Saturday nights parade had ruinod. He advocated women police. - The Magistrate said the age of consent was the whole . trouble. The question of supervision of girls was certainly becoming prominent and it made one think somo action was necessary. In regard to the man referred to the Magistrate advocated tar and feathers and a good hiding.
