SWIMMING.
XORTH CANTERBURY CLUB, Tho fourth annual meeting of the North Canterbui-v Swimming Club - was held at Rangiora last evening. Mr' TV. T. TVilson presiding over an attendance of twenty-mem-The annual report stated that out of a membership cl sixty-eight nineteen are or have been on active service. No club competition and no carnival was held during the pest season, on account of tho fact that tho majority of the' active members were at the front. The balance-sheet showed receipts £2l Is fid, and expenditure £lB Ifis pd, leaving a credit balance of £2 8s Bd. The report .. and balance-sheet were adonted. - Officers were elected as follow:—Patrons, Hon D, Buddo, M.P., Major B. Jordan, Dr Will and the Mayor (Mr C. I. Jennings); president, Mr E. B. P. Brown; vice-presi-dents, 1 Messrs TV. S. Shilton, H, C. D. Van Asch and .R. Fovister; captain, Mr J. Jordan; deputy-captain, Mr D. Blake; secretary and* treasurer, Mr J. Kinley; auditor, Mr C. I. Jennings; committee, Messrs TV. Butters, H. Kinley, TV. T. TVilson, H. Jackson and H. Cobden Cox; ■ delegate to the Centre," Mr B. jfordon. 'i It was decided to; v accept tho borough council’s offer of ihe use. of the municipal bath for the coming season for’a fee ‘of £5. An honorarium of £3 2s was voted to tho secrotary, .who returned: the money to tho club.
