In the Assembly Mr Holman tested the strength of the new Opposition on a motion for adjournment by leading his followers from the chamber, and the House was counted out. During the debate Mr M'Girr said that because of tha attitude of Mr Holman in forming a National Party the people were taking up a lawless attitude as the Government did not represent them. Mr Holman was not able to hide from the electors by staying in Parliament, as a provisional Govern.ment would be formed. MEETING OF PROTEST. SYDNEY, November 16. At the conclusion of a meeting of protest against the prolongation of Parliament 3000 people marched to Parliament to present a resolution. They found that the House had adjourned, and after a demonstration against the Government they dispersed.
