VRA CTICAL PRESCRIPTION AGAINST STOMACH ACIDITY. By A SPECIALIST, "'Nine-tenths of all cases of stomach trouble nowadays," says a leading specialist, " are caused by too much acid. In the beginning the stomach itself is not diseased, but if this a'-fffd condition is allowed to continue, tho acid is very likely to cat into tho stomach walls and prodece stomach uloer, which may render a radical surgical operation necessary, even to prolong life. Therefore an ' ae}d stomach 5 is really a dangerous condition and should be treated .seriously. It is utterly useless to take pepsin and' ordinary stomach tablets. Tho excess acid must be neutralised by the administration of an efficient antacid. For this purpose physicians nearly' always recommend taking half a. teaspoonful of bisurated magnesia in a littlo water after each meal. Large quantities may bo used, if necessary, as it is absolutely harmless. But be suro to get tho bisurated magnesia, as other forms of magnesia have not tho same action in the stomach as tho bisurated, and frequently do* more harm than itoocL' 4 "<*®
