MILITARY OFFICERS' INSTRUCTION.

COURSE AT ADDINGTON

Tho annual course of instruction for officers and non-commissioned • officers, both Territorials and Senior Cadets, -in the Canterbury military district, ranging from Waimate to Nelson and the West Coast, will be commenced at the Metropolitan Trotting Club's grounds, Addington, on Wednesday next, October 11, and will continue for a fortnight. . n Major Finnis will be in command, and'about 300 are expected to participate. The work will follow on tbe lines of that followed in previous years, and each man will be given ample opportunity to handle groups of men, taking it in turns to command and to obey. The day's work will start at 7.30 a.m., and, except for breakfast and dinner intervals, will continue to 5.30 p.m. At 7.30 lectures and other educational means will be available. The Y.M.C.A. has arranged to look after the social side of the gathering. The Metropolitan Trotting Club Committee has generously placed the grounds and the buildings at the disposal of the military authorities, and a successful fortnight is confidently antij cipated. The men will go into " camp on Tuesday evening next.
