LAWN TENNIS.
WAIAU CLUB. The annul! meeting of the Waiau Tennis Club was heid in the Waiau Library Hall on Thursday. Mr J. R. M'Bryde presided. Tho balancs-sheet showing, & credit of £l2 Cs '2d, was read and adopted. Officers were elected as follow:—Patron, Mrs Macfarlane; uresidont, Mr G. W. Forbes, M.P.; riee-presidents, Messrs Beth-Smith, Duncan Rutherford, P. M'DouMil.'L. J- Pullev, J. M'Clure, H. Atkinson, F. J. O'Malley," W. Rutherford and Dr Morris; oommittee, Mesdames: M'Bryde and M'Clure, Misses Mannion and Douglas and Messrs H. A. Green, J. R, M'Bryde, A. G Shirlev, C. Burrows and C. Douglas: club captain, Mr L. G. Forbes; secretary and treasurer. Miss Marr. Tlio opening of the season was fixed for Wednesday, October 11, and it was decided to send aii invitation to the Culverden Club to be present. It was decided to hold a patriotic 3ocial in the evening, tho proceed* to go towards the funds of the "Our Day" movement.
