The usual week-end sale of home-made foodstuffs, etc., will take placo at the depot, Cavfcedral Square, to-morrow night, end Saturday morning. The sale will bo in charge of the ladies of the Avonside Red Cross branch. There will be on offer a large supply of cakes, fruit pies, meat pies, eggs, pouxtry, jams, froah meat, bacon, fruit, vegetables and spring floweTS. ihe competitions for a musical bos, conducted by Mrs Davies, was won by Frank Fantham, and tho winner of a rag mat was Mrs S. Orchard. TKo depot is very short of fruit and vegetables, and any contributions, large or email, wili bo welcomed. WOOLSTON. A meeting of the Carnival Committed was hcid in the Red Cross. rooms on Monday evening, Mr J. Richardson in tho chair. It was decided to bold a three days' carnival in October. Tho fo Jewing stalls wore al.otted: —St John's G.F.S., sweets; G.F.S. Candidates, Christmas treo; Ladies' Red Cross Committee, refreshments; Rechabitea, competitions; Druids soft drinks, ond produce; Oddfellows, side-shows; Mothodist, variety, cako and home dainties, flowers, bran tub, ice cream and fruit salad. The treasurer acknowledges receipt of 7s Gd" from Miss Horton. SUMNER BANDAGING COMMITTEE. The secretary of the Sumner Bandage Committee repoUs' having forwarded tho following articles to tho Christcnurch centre:— 64 two-inch bandages, 53 four-inch bandages, 50 maniwil bandages, 40 triangular bandages, 33 bundles of operation cloths, 3 dusters, 30 diet cloths, dO binders, 1 bos of old lmen, 600 cotton wool swabs, and 230 abdominal swabs. . • Gifts in material have been received from Mrs Thornley, Mrs J.
