WAIMATE METHODIST CIRCUIT
QUARTERLY MEEUXG. The quarterly meeting- cf tho Waimale Methodist Church was held on Thmsday. There wa.3 s. large attendance of officials and the Rev G. F. Stockwell presided. The membership returns shewed on increase and the financial returns were satisfactory. Votes of sympathy wore passed with two families who had lost relatives ct the front. A resolution of appreciation of the work of Captain Hayes, }!.&.M.C., was curried. A high tribute was psid to the work of the minister, now iri his fif-.h year, and the Rev A. N. Bcotter. of Sydenham, was unanimously invited to succc-ed him at the conferTho circuit stewards wore appointed representatives to the synod to be held at Gcraldine, with Messrs Haym-n and Sinclair as substitutes. Messrs J. 11. Manchester and Hitchens wero appointed circuit auditors. The chairm'&n announced thfct ths presidont of the Methodist Conference would visit AVaimate on December 10 an the occasion of the Sunday school anniversary.
