It is believed that the Germans are gradually withdrawing under cover of counter-attacks. The French took important entrenchments north of Eancourt. ' THE RUSSIAN FRONT. PETEOGRAD, Octo'ter 4.—An enemy attack was , repulsed at Novo Alexandrovsk. The Russians report, successes in Volhynia, and on the Zlota Lipa RUMANIA'S CAMPAIGN. BUCHAREST, October 4.-—A violent battle continues in the Dobrudja. The Rumanians drove the Austrians back at Gyergyo Hagitta Mountain and made progress in the Fogaras region. Enemy attacks near Vulkau Pass were repulsed. MACEDONIAN OFFENSIVE. SALONIKA, October 4.—The Bulgars withdrew from Brod and other points after Serbian successes at Kajmackalan. The French occupied Vrbeni. British successes are reported east of tho Struma. ITALIAN SUCCESS. , ROME, October 4.—The Italians took the second peak of the Colbricon and also an important height in the Carnic Alps. THE GREEK SITUATION. ATHENS, October 4.—Greek ministers resigned and it is believed that the Cabinet will be reconstructed on national lines.
