4 The Mayor (Mr H. Holland) will open a •ale of work in the Durham Street South Methodist Hall, at 2.30 p.m. to-day. The proceeds are in aid of the trust funds. The M.le will be continued during the evening. A leoture on " Spiritualism's Attitude Towards the Creeds" will bo given to-night, at •ight o'clock, in the Trades Hall, Gloucester Street. The monthly meeting of tie Canterbury Fruitgrowers' Association will be held on Saturday.'at'B p.m. A jumble sale will bo hold in St Irtikes fdioolxvom to-day, from 2.30 to 7 p.m.
