CHINESE GENEROSITY.

HELPING THE HOSPITAL.

The Chinese in Christchurch annually send a donation to tho General Hospital funds, and this year tho donation amounts to £24. A cheque for that amount was forwarded on Monday to the secretary, with a covering lettei as follows: Dear Sir,—l have much pleasure in again sending you a cheque, this time* for £24, as a contribution from my countrymen in and near Christchurch. towards the upkeep of the Christchurch Hospital, of which £lO 10s is donated 'by the Christchurch Chinese Association, £l3 10s being specially contributed by the undersigned, who jom me in wishing your institution every success, Yours faithfully,
