SALES DEPOT. .' In connoction with the "Our Day" appeal for Bed Cress funds, the staff of the depot conducted three 'stalls in-Cathedral Squaro, near the Train Shelter. The produce stall, which was organised by Mx W. B. Fox, realised £220 19s ,9d; tha sweet stall and flower stall wcro 'in charge of Mrs' C. R. Beadel, the wrmer realising £l3' 6s 7d and the latter £ll 4s Id. ' '

Tho Lower Riccartoh Red Cross i Branch held two meetlnzs recently, to report on the work being don* in the district. The report was.a good one, the girls' class, under Miss Fisher, and the boys' class being worthy of special mention in bandage and swab making. ■ A euchre party was -held by the ■ Riccarton Burgesses' Association, and tho proceeds given to the Low« Riccarton Branch. The amount realised was £23.15s 9d. In addition to tho usual monthly donations, Mrs J. Brown, Mayoress, gavd a special donation of £2. The mouth's work amounted to 212 garments and '3OO swabs.

feßnside: The first annual meeting .of the Fornside Red Cross branch was held on September 22. Seventeen members- were present. The report showed that altogether 1621 articles had been sent away during the vear. The receipts up till the end of August totalled £l2O 6s 2Jd, and the expenditure £lO6 198 Oid, lea vine a oredit balance of cash in hand £l3 7s 2d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
