CHKISTCHL'BCH. Mv H. W. Bishop presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. On a charge of drunkenness. George James Mellinc, a second offender, was lined 10s. Peter Nolan, .tor two broaches of a prohibition order, was filled 10s on each charge. John Evans was charged with trespass on his wife's premises during the currency of a separation order, and also with being £'6 in arrears or. an order. He was severely cautioned that if he trespassed again or annoyed his wife he would be sent to gaol forthwith. He was convicted of trespass and ordered to come up for sentence when called on. On the second chartre he was ordered to pay 10s a weok_ off arrears in addition to the original order of £1 a week, in default three months' imprisonment. LYTTELTON. Captain Hatchwcll, J.P., and -Mr L. A. Stringer, J.P., presided at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court yesterday. Hans Knudsen, for desertion from the steamer Karamea, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. A youth named William J. Peat, who pleaded guilty 1o the thcit of 12s from J. C. Pascoo, was convicted aud ordered to refund the money.
